RKI Instruments, a growing and innovative gas detection company located in Union City seeking an Assembler to join the Portable Section of our Production Department. This person must be a team player, willing to help wherever help is needed within the Portables team. The position entails ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively; good soldering skills highly desired. This person will be asked to undergo a background check.

Duties:

• Assembling and testing gas detectors.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to perform basic assembly from detailed instructions
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work overtime as requested
• High School diploma or equivalent

Skills/Knowledge:

• Good soldering skill is must.
• Machine shop experience is preferred.
• Able to read assembly drawings and technical notes
• Troubleshoot to component level
• Able to perform continuous short cycle work
• Able to operate power tools and drill press.
• Able to work in a fast paced demanding environment.
