Hospital For Special Surgery (HSS) was founded in 1863 and is recognized as a world leader in musculoskeletal medicine. Highly ranked in orthopaedics and rheumatology, HSS’s strength lies in the depth of experience of its physicians and clinical staff, its leadership in education of expert clinicians and future leaders in academic medicine, and its innovative research. HSS performs close to 30,000 surgeries each year. HSS is a member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System and all members of its medical staff are on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC).
