Arborpolitan is looking to hire a full-time employee by March to assist with our day-to-day operations in the field of arboriculture.
Arborpolitan Tree & Garden Care is a full-service arboriculture firm located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. We focus on land care and tree work through the use of natural and traditional products. As an arborist firm we handle tree evaluation, pruning, removals, consulting, Integrated Pest Management, and tree/garden installation. We promote a healthy work environment by working closely with each other, emphasizing safety, and offering continuous education for all workers from office staff to PHC techs to climbers. Our clients in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens value us for our open exchange of knowledge, the quality of our work, and our attention to service.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- The care of trees, woody shrubs, and vines through pruning, training, planting, maintenance and removals
- Help to plant and install new trees, gardens, and soils, work with local nurseries in selection of trees
- Basic use of tree care equipment, including garden tools, chainsaws, chipper, fertilizer and pesticide application equipment
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years experience in the field of arboriculture, gardening, landscaping, or agriculture
- Understanding of tree biology and pruning techniques
- Previous ground crew work experience
- Chainsaw handling and basic repair
- Chipper safety knowledge
- Team player and solid communicator open to feedback, desire to learn and advance in the field of arboriculture
- Ability to lift 40 lbs or more and work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license required—previous truck-driving experience in NYC a plus
- ISA certification or pest applicator certificate a plus
- First Aid and CPR training a plus
- Current vaccinations and/or booster shots against COVID-19 required
