Job description
The APS Coordinator role will work under the Special Education Director to ensure compliance. This will be a
collaborative effort, alongside the SpEd Manager, and require good communication between the schools. This
person will take point on all correspondence and follow up with the APS and build upon the LEA relationship.
Belmont Charter Network currently has 20 students that attend an APS.
This position requires being present and connecting face to face with the Schools 1 day a week during the transition
period. The APS Coordinator will attend Manager meetings on a monthly basis to receive and provide updates.

Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Family and APS for acceptance after approval from SpEd School Manager
and SpEd Director
Participate in IEP meetings in collaboration with the SpEd Manger
Participation in SAIP, Manifestation Determination Meetings etc.. in collaboration with
the SpEd Manger
Set up regular check in meeting(6 weeks) with the APS and staff to maintain a pulse of the
program being provided
Coordinate and ensure related services are being provided (speech/OT/mental health
etc…..)
Special attention paid to behavior and the APS plan for managing behavior in collaboration
with each SpEd Manger
Check ins with families to maintain communication
Ensure PSSA/PASA assessments are completed
Receive attendance from the APS and forward to each school front desk for them to enter
into the LEA data manager system
Maintain compliance on all electronic SpEd documents in collaboration with the SpEd
Manger. Forward to the SpEd manager and they will print and file
Responsible to collect and receive all signed and completed documents
Manage inclusivity and information for Belmont school events
Create NOREPs and PTREs. The APS does not do this.
Retrieve and review end of quarter progress reports and report cards. Forward to SpEd
manager to upload and print for the file
Update and maintain the LEA data manager system after each IEP, ER,RR etc…
Responsible for coordinating student transportation including: pick-up, drop off, ESY, and
trouble shooting/problem solving with the school district of Philadelphia and the
transportation vendors to ensure safe and dependable transportation

Highly organized
Excellent communication/collaboration skills
Experience with all components of Special Education Compliance and documentation
Full understanding of students supports and IEP requirements
Available to be on site at the LEA when needed
Excellent parent communication and follow up skills
Good problem solving skills
B.A./B.S. degree from accredited institution;
2-3 years of special education classroom experience, preferably in urban education;
Valid and active Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate;
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check Clearance (Act 34)
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
Federal Bureau of Investigation Record Check Clearance (Act 114)
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Clearance (Act 168)
