Application Specialist- American State Bank - Sioux Center location


Reports to: VP of Digital Banking | FLSA Status: non-Exempt


Job Brief:
This position will support American State Bank’s Commercial and Ag department by ensuring we are extracting maximum value from systems and applications. Primary responsibilities include software support and configuration, systems testing and developing documentation, training end users on best practices, and project management. This position will work with a wide variety of stakeholders including IT and Operations and will help support our digital strategy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides application-level support on department specific systems including Fiserv Director and ancillary products.
  • Works closely with vendors to manage application support and escalate issues, required fixes and feature requests.
  • Oversees security, user access and permissions on systems.
  • Performs data analysis, management, and conversion tasks.
  • Develops technical documentation for applications and databases.
  • Develops training materials and provides application training to end users.
  • Participates as key member of selection and implementation teams for any new systems and applications.
  • Assists in the facilitation of various team and department meetings and manages project teams.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of internet cloud and client/server architectures and understands technical design specifications
  • Knowledge of the methods and principles used in training others in software applications.
