Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Certification
- Experience with Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold Preferred
- Cultural competency/experience working with a diverse population
- Must believe that all students can learn
- Must possess a collaborative nature
- Must be an innovative, passionate, and energetic individual
- Successful experience working with diverse learners including Special Education and ESL preferred
- Must believe in play and oracy based early learning experiences
Duties:
- Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students in the areas of SEL, Math, and Reading Foundational Skills using an inquiry-based model
- Aligns lessons with Iowa Core and ELP standards
- Works collaboratively with content area/grade level teams
- Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports including state assessments (ELPA)
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
- Develop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnel
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
- Maintains state and district required certifications
- Participate in Birth to 3/Family Education
