As the Capital Analytics Manager, you will provide critical analyses that drive capital allocation decisions made by THG's leadership team and Board of Directors. At its core, the role will require you to produce complex financial models and data-driven insights in support of THG's Corporate Finance and M&A teams. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include building Excel models, analyzing data and preparing memos related to the workstreams and projects outlined below.

Responsibilities

Build Dynamic Financial Models in Excel

  • Utilize and improve THG's proprietary Excel model for optimizing capital allocation decisions
  • Build cash flow models and other analyses for a variety of strategic initiatives
  • Track metrics, synthesize information, and utilize data visualization to drive decision making

Prepare Valuations of THG's Companies and Investments

  • Partner internally and externally to prepare valuations of THG's companies and investments
  • Incorporate valuation work into internal models
  • Provide analytical support for annual valuation presentation to the Board of Directors

Provide Insights and Tools for THG and Company Leaders to Understand and Improve Capital Efficiency

  • Measure return on capital of operating companies and investment portfolio
  • Develop and maintain WACC targets for operating businesses
  • Analyze internal and benchmark investment returns for various investment strategies

Support THG's Liquidity Forecasting Process

  • Partner with THG's FP&A teams to update THG's balance sheet forecast
  • Provide updates on capital availability to inform capital allocation and balance sheet decision making
  • Actively participate in strategic decisions related to THG's credit facilities


Leadership and Talent Development Opportunities

  • Partner with finance leaders and other key stakeholders at THG Corporate and its operating companies
  • Support colleagues in performance/talent management, recruiting, and career development
  • Play an active role in developing THG Corporate Finance into a Center of Excellence

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education and Work Experience
    • Bachelor's or Master's in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
    • 5+ years of professional experience in finance or accounting roles that required developing complex and dynamic Excel models
    • Ideal candidate will have background in sophisticated financial statement analysis, and a detailed understanding of corporate finance and portfolio theory
  • Critical skills
    • Quantitatively oriented / enjoy creative and complex financial modeling
    • Adaptable to situations in which there might be disparate sources of imperfect information
    • Strong project management skills with ability to meet deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
    • Extremely resourceful, organized and detail-oriented
  • Communication
    • Ability to synthesize information into strategic insights, especially in written format
    • Comfortable verbally communicating your point of view and considering the input of others
    • Proactively communicates with all key stakeholders to clearly set expectations
    • Track record of building strong working relationships across all levels of an organization
