Durham Constabulary is looking to appoint an analyst to work within the Operational Analysis Team.

Day to day, this job will involve gathering and interpreting information to build up a picture of criminal activity to inform investigations and support the disruption of organised crime across County Durham & Darlington.

As well as being an integral part of criminal investigation teams, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on longer term force projects and proactive pieces of analytical work to support key decision making within the force. They will work closely with our key collaborative partnership agencies on regular basis.

As analyst you will be based at our new purpose built police headquarters at Aykley Heads just north of Durham City.

Durham Constabulary offers a minimum of 26 days annual leave rising to 31 days after five years continuous service (pro rata to number of hours worked), an extremely competitive pension scheme, a flexible approach to work/life balance issues and an excellent working environment.

The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to work remotely and at police stations across the force area.

Selection Process

The selection process for this post will include a 3 hour work sample assessment. No preparation is required for this assessment, and the marks awarded will contribute to the overall score for each candidate. As part of the interview process, each candidate will also be required to give a presentation. Prior notification of the topic and timings will be provided to those applicants invited for interview.

Salary: £27,432.00-£30,420.00 per year
