KOOTENAI COUNTY is currently accepting applications for our AIRPORT DIRECTOR position. This position is responsible for the management, development, operation, administration, and financial control of the Coeur d'Alene Airport; represents the County on Airport issues; establishes policy guidance in areas of airport operations, safety, security, planning ARFF operations, construction development, equipment procurement, budgetary matters, community relations, and liaison activities with local, state and federal agencies; supervises airport staff concerning snow removal, grounds keeping, maintenance of airport facilities, runway and taxiway maintenance, and office administration.
The Mission of the Coeur d' Alene Airport is to create and maintain an air transportation facility which is safe, efficient, economical, environmentally-acceptable, and responsive to the community it serves.
$90,188 to $107,203 per year depending on experience- Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), a pension plan with five year vesting, 11.94% employer contribution, and a lifetime payout upon retirement.

DO YOU QUALIFY?
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a degree in Business Management, and a minimum of 48 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess strong FAA knowledge for airport administration and have an in-depth understanding of airport operations
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of working well with people of all backgrounds and experience levels in aviation
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid driver's license, and be insurable; valid First Aid card and CPR certification.

Possess a strong ability to establish effective working relationships essential to the long range development of airport operations- You have a proven track record of effective planning, formulating and directing all aspects of organization development and property acquisition to accommodate growing enterprise.
- You are skilled in presenting and able to participate in public meetings and hearings as needed to solicit public response and explains policy and project options.
