Job Profile Summary: Reporting to the Allina Healthcare Cancer Institute (AHCI) Vice President of Operations, the AHCI Clinical Nursing Director provides clinical nursing leadership for the Allina Health Cancer Institute (AHCI). This position oversees medical oncology infusion services and collaborates on vision and leadership for all oncology clinical services including medical, radiation and surgical departments, represents AHCI nursing through business unit patient care/nursing hierarchies and has responsibility and accountability to assure that out-patient programs and services delivered by team members are safe, timely, effective, efficient, patient-centered, and equitable.
Job Description:


The AHCI Nursing Director collaborates on care navigation, clinical programs, tumor registry, genetic counseling, accreditation including CoC and ASCO-QOPI, clinical program outcomes, and education. The AHCI Nursing Director works closely with site specific patient care/nursing hierarchies to support implementation of clinical best practices including new clinical initiatives such as oral oncolytic and other needed goals for the program. The AHCI Nursing director will develop clinical best practices that become standards for care for the Allina Health Cancer Institute. AHCI Nursing director will ensure consistent care delivery systems within AHCI. The AHCI Nursing Director will establish and oversee nursing governance structure and will oversee nursing practice within AHCI. This position also has operational accountability for AHCI outpatient infusion center management, education and quality/risk management support including matrix responsibility.


Education and Experience

  • Masters in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related fields.

  • Bachelors in Nursing.

  • Registered Nurse.

  • Licensed in the state of MN to practice professional nursing.

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Certification preferred

  • Demonstrated expertise as an oncology nurse clinician and at least 7-10 years progressive leadership in healthcare, at least three of which were oncology programs and services. Preferred clinical background in both medical and radiation oncology. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and written, electronic, verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Successful track record of effective working relationships with oncology physicians.
