The After Hours Field Lead will coordinate direct services to children and staff after hours, ensuring the following functions are completed efficiently; communication with after hours staff and external community resources, assist with getting children to placements, transportation needs, ensuring the children’s needs are met at night, ensuring safety of children and staff, and provide training and crisis support to After Hours Support Workers and On Call staff.


  • Participate in afternoon huddle to ensure smooth transition of children from 1st to 2nd shift, and 2nd to 3rd shift.
  • Provides crisis management, de-escalation, parenting skills, and behavior management to clients and staff.
  • Assesses safety for children and adults, including Saint Francis Ministries staff.
  • Develops short term safety plans to re-solve crisis situations.
  • Informs Leadership immediately of Significant Events.
  • Works with internal and external partners to access supports to the child/family or staff during a time of crisis.
  • Coordinates transportation arrangements for multiple youth in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures all children being transported to placement have blue book, medications, and belongings.
  • Documents information and completes all necessary Saint Francis Ministries forms according to timelines.
  • Frequent communication/coordination with After Hours Supervisor, After Hours Support Workers and other Afterhours Coordinators during crisis situations.
  • Provide training to new after hours support workers and on call workers, as well as ongoing mentoring and support in the field.
  • Assist with after hours support worker staff meetings and ongoing training opportunities.
  • Tracks on call situations and documents as needed.
  • Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
  • Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulation, and contractual terms.
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
  • Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
  • Ensures clients’ rights and privacy are protected.
Requirements:
  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field from an accredited university
  • Prefer two years’ experience working with children and families.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry check
  • FBI Fingerprint check
  • Lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
