POSITION SUMMARY:

The Administrative Specialist 1 provides administrative support to McREL’s professional staff members and departments within the organization, performing a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This person creates, manages, and organizes documents, handles large printing projects, oversees the office mail room, and, with the direction and support of the Office Manager, makes judgments in handling requests for information and support. This person is critical to ensuring that McREL’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.


This is a hybrid role based in our Denver, CO office. The person in this position will be expected to work from the office 1-2 days per week on average.


As an Administrative Specialist, you will make an impact by:

  • Reviewing, editing, typing, proofing, and printing reports, manuals, and presentation materials.
  • Printing, binding, and shipping large materials orders for contracts as requested by McREL consultants and authorized clients.
  • Composing and producing correspondence, RFP’s, contracts or other data as required, using word processing software.
  • Preparing letters and packages for mailing, addressing labels and using appropriate shipping methods.
  • Maintaining appropriate forms, documents, and supplies necessary to the department, including creating and submitting requisitions and purchase orders using proper account codes.
  • Assisting internal and external clients with requests for products or information.
  • Anticipating the needs of each team or project that you support.
  • Creating your own tracking and filing systems as needed.
  • Supporting the Administrative team to coordinate logistics for meetings and trainings, including preparing agendas and handouts, securing audio/visual equipment, and any other meeting needs.
  • Making decisions, performing, and encouraging others to act in alignment with organizational goals, strategy, vision, mission, and values.
  • Modeling and championing corporate policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


SKILLS:

  • Ability to consistently demonstrate McREL’s core values.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and produce high-quality work with minimal support from the Office Manager while supporting a variety of members in a workgroup or department.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, internet and email.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software, with ability to key/type 60 wpm within acceptable limits of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to receive growth-oriented feedback in a positive, constructive manner and apply feedback to future work.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of degree and experience.
  • 3+ years of administrative or office support experience.


PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • SharePoint experience strongly preferred.


TRAVEL:

This position requires minimal domestic travel (0% to 10%).
