Posting Details

Evaluates and analyzes statewide calls for service processed by NMSP Dispatchers (94 FTE); records (e.g. CAD Incidents, cell notes, recordings, etc.): and other information to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Researches and gathers data from external communications centers (government and private), utilizing this information for data analytics and/or to recommend the process improvements.

Makes recommendations to NMSP Chief, Communications Bureau Director and other executive staff during regular planning meetings and/or ad hoc basis for process and other improvements to include, but not limited to, targeted individual employee training, general training provided to all new dispatchers by the training coordinator, PST curriculum, revisions, streamlining processes, best practice implementation, and/or District-specific areas requiring improvements on which to focus. Immediately brings to Communication Bureau Director's attention any non-compliance concerns

Generate and disseminate user friendly reports to DPS management on which decisions can be made, analyze and compare reports over time to identify trends.
Responds to numerous statewide IPRA requests for the Communications Bureau, coordinating with the DPS Law Enforcement Records Bureau (LERB) and Communications Bureau staff. Maintains records of requests and responsive information provided to LERB. Evaluates requests to the extent that trends or issues can be applied to continuous improvement for processes, services, etc., making recommendations for change as appropriate.

Track, evaluate, and analyze data, generate reports, which informed decisions can be made; and identify areas for training and process improvements to maximize consistent, accurate, effective and efficient dispatch services that are complaint with regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.

NMDPS Communications Bureau, Chief and staff, public and courts.

Minimum Qualification

High School diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in basic accounting, and/or business/office administration. Substitutions apply. See Substitution Table below.

Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.

Work is performed in a 24/7 law enforcement setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal VDT, and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Irregular hours, overtime, swing shifts, graveyard shifts, weekends and/or holiday shifts are required. Minimal travel may be required.
