Nature of Work:

Under the Administrative Services Assistance Program (ASAP) provides temporary support services in the form of varied, complex secretarial and/or clerical work to City Departments by individuals who are available to work on short term and/or special assignments, utilizing administrative staffing pool persons on- call to perform various types of staffing needs to allow continuation of City operations at desired levels of efficiency during times of specific need, peak work load periods, vacations, or temporary staff vacancies. Work is performed according to general instructions and/or established guidelines, which apply to most usual work situations. Work is generally reviewed through random spot checks of records or discussion of problems.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years clerical/secretarial, data entry, or office management experience required. Must have some experience with Microsoft Word and/or Excel. Experience in Bookkeeping or Clerical Accounting is preferred.

Must type 25 WPM or higher. Driver license required. Background check required may also be required to pass a polygraph depending on area of assignment.

Proficiency test in Microsoft Word or Excel may be required.

Typing Test Information:
  • Tests are administered by invitation only.
  • Only applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be invited via email. Invitations will be sent to the email address listed on the application.
  • Applicants will have (3) three days from the date of the invitation to complete the test. Tests may be completed virtually or onsite.
  • Applicants are allowed one opportunity to pass the typing test within a posting period or any given 30 days. Scores are valid for one year
