Job description
- 4-6 years of professional experience working in an administrative, clerical, higher education, or similar setting or 2-4 years of related experience combined with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with students and families, demonstrate empathy, active listening skills, and the ability to manage conflict in a professional and constructive manner.
- Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
- Strong administrative abilities, including familiarity with information systems and office management software including Microsoft Office suite and similar applications. Interest and ability to learn new software as needed. Attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management skills, including the ability to multitask. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in a college or university setting.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Strong judgment, including working in an environment with sensitive information. Ability to work discretely and thoughtfully.
- Experience planning and implementing events, programs, or similar initiatives.
- Clear record of high-level administrative duties in an office with student and graduate student contact.
- Experience in budget development and expense accounting, strong understanding of decision-making structures in a university environment.
- Must have demonstrated record of working in a protected information environment, complying with FERPA, HIPPA, ADA, and Title IX mandates.
