Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a university setting.
  • Experience in accounting principles, Procurement Cards (P Card), daily expenditures, and reconciliation of budget (s), and SAP.

Job Description
A key administrative position that provides support to a busy, multi-functional unit within the LBJ Student Center. As a central communication and collaboration point, this position provides support for professional and operations staff and participates in department-wide programs and services. Essential skills for the successful candidate will include the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, communicate effectively with staff, students, vendors, and guests, and meet deadlines as needed. This position requires exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. While needing to be adaptable to changes, the position also requires someone who is detail-oriented, able to organize and can produce accurate work.

Job Duties
  • Responsible for providing administrative support to operations of the LBJ Student Center.
  • Greet customers, answer phone, evaluate requests, answer questions, forward calls, schedule appointments (Associate and Assistant Director), and respond to departmental needs.
  • Type & proofread reports, correspondence, forms, & proposals.
  • Compose correspondence requiring some independent thought.
  • Organize and prioritize work for self.
  • Process financial transactions, IDT’s and monthly account reconciliations.
  • Maintain files and review for completeness, records management.
  • Initiate action to process invoices within required time frames.
  • Responsible for departmental office supplies and forms.
  • Provide assistance with multi-media work including desktop publishing.
  • Collaborative team member, ability, and willingness to cross-train with other department areas.
  • Serve as Student Center vehicle custodian to include reservations and maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate various events including interactive programs and activities for students.
  • Perform other duties as required.
