Working in conjunction with the education arm – STG Studio – offering learning opportunities for individuals of all ages and artists including children, teens, and adults.
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Work Locations: 80% Remote
20% STG Studio
180 NW Oldham Parkway, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081
*Other theater locations as necessary
Reports To: STG Executive Committee
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
*Additional hours, including weekends, may vary as dictated by performances and events
Pay: Monthly stipend of $1200
Job Summary: Responsible for routine administrative duties to assist Summit Theatre Group with productions and events. Works with the Board of Directors as well as the directorial staff of season productions while maintaining a partnership with the STG Studio team.
Responsibilities:
General
- Communicating with the STG Board Officers regularly.
- Attend Board of Directors meeting (6 per year).
- Prepares and presents reports for the Board of Directors.
Social Media
- Update and maintain the STG social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
- Update, maintain, and release the STG monthly newsletter.
- Serve as the social media contact for STG answering questions and forwarding information.
Auditions and Performances:
Work with directors to establish audition dates.
Assist with establishing audition format if needed.
Advertise auditions via website, social media, newsletter, and other areas.
Coordinate auditions and assist with audition process.
Work with show liaison on PR materials.
Maintain consistent communication with the director, production staff, and show liaison.
Assist with filling production staff roles as needed.
Support designers for purchase, rental or borrowing of scenery, props, costumes, etc.
Complete Playbill needs
- Gather advertisement updates
- Gather information required from director
- Gather bios from cast and crew
- Sent to director for review/editing
- Approve final draft
- Create QR code for digital playbills as needed
Create curtain speech script for recording, send to directors/stage manager/sound personnel for use at productions.
Schedule and advertise Student Preview at final dress rehearsal with applicable.
Financial management to include:
- Turn in receipts for reimbursement as needed prior to show opening.
- Request stipend information and reimbursements needed from the director.
- Send stipend and reimbursement requests to the treasurer no later than one week prior to the close of show.
- Give stipends to director for distribution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Administrative experience
Strong time-management skills
Strong customer service skills
Working knowledge of Facebook and Instagram
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Love of theater
Community service experience
Previous work with non-profit organizations
