The Administrative Assistant of the Center for the Future of Native Peoples performs a variety of administrative functions to support the work of the Center in advancing education, scholarship, and practices around Native American studies. The position is responsible for the day-to-day clerical operations of the CFNP, assisting with communications, event planning, and general administrative functions.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain financial records for the Center, producing expenditure and budget reports, processing requisitions, internal fund transfers, expense reimbursements, and credit card reconciliation. May assist in the completion of student employment paperwork and schedules.
  • Maintains appropriate records and files to assist in the management of the Mellon Grant funding and other grant and endowed funds, and assists in fundraising activities in the support of CFNP’s work.
  • Schedule, organize, advertise, and provide logistical support for CFNP events. This may include purchasing materials, coordinating printing of materials, reserving space, and securing appropriate travel and lodging arrangements for guests of CFNP.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings including but not limited to assistance with the Indigenous Advisory Council (IAC). Reserves space, as needed, places catering requests, prepares materials, submits campus announcements, invites participants and requests honorariums/payment, as needed.
  • Provides general office support including but not limited to greeting visitors, purchasing and inventorying supplies and materials, answering phone and conducting mail and email correspondence, managing Outlooks calendars, facility work orders, etc.

A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period.

This position is considered "Emergency Staff." As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start.
