About The Role....

As an ACH Specialist you will be responsible for posting deposits, reconciling the ACH processing and performing file maintenance. You will also handle exception items not posted to the members' accounts via the Automated Clearing House (ACH) program. Additionally, you will provide various reporting on ACH statistics & ensure the credit union is in compliance with ACH regulations, policies and procedures.

What You'll Do....

  • Processes ACH files from Fedline every morning and review OFAC - address any individual and file alerts within Verafin.
  • Balances daily ACH GL to the Fed advices, including balancing of credits posted early.
  • Responsible for balancing daily ACH general ledger. Provides back up support for all GL activities.
  • Processes WSSUP (Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit)/stop payment forms - track, monitor, create return, credit member, ensure form completed correctly.
  • Reverses loan payments and completes file maintenance to correct errors.
  • Setting up dealer direct dealer payments by ACH origination.
  • Originate ACH returns and ACH originations file via Opcon
  • Services the membership with regard to member questions and problem resolution with Written Statement of Unauthorized Debits, Propay transactions, Midwest Loan payments, copies of corporate checks, voids/stop payments on corporate drafts.
  • Participates in cross-training to ensure job rotation.
  • Backup for processing mortgage wires, Triad, and CIS along with posting entries
  • Backup for balancing ATM settlement, Check Card, RDC, Shared Branching, Propay, Midwest Loan Payments and Daily balancing
  • Responsible to continued ACH training and webinars. Ensure all new ACH rules are communicated to supervisor and implemented within proper timeframe
  • Responsible for compliance to all BSA policies, procedures, and regulations within area of responsibility.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities You'll Need....

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • One to three years of experience in a Financial Institution with one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Familiarity and facility with various PC applications, including MS Excel, electronic calculators and general accounting principles.
  • Good communications, accurate mathematical skills, and able to exhibit positive interpersonal skills with both members and staff.
  • Highly energetic and motivated individual. Strives to accomplish all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
