Mac Properties is a dynamic and growing private residential real estate company headquartered in Englewood, NJ with operations in the metropolitan areas of Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas City.

We are hiring an Accounts Receivables Associates in Chicago! The pay range for this role is $20-$22/hour

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, and WITH BENEFITS.

This role is responsible for various aspects of day-to-day account receivable, accounts payables, and transaction processing functions for the Chicago portfolio on a timely and accurate basis and in accordance with company policies, lease agreements, and applicable laws. Responsible for all activities related to collections of past-due payments from residents in the Chicago portfolio. Provides specialized services in the collection process of evictions; including preparing, reviewing, and submitting reports for fees, fines, revenues, or other monies. Consistently exceed industry standards with outstanding customer service through prompt and courteous service to maximize resident satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate resident financial account records including applying all rent payments, and application fees in the accounting software system (Macforce) on a daily basis.
  • Generate and distribute resident communications/notices, including payments, balances, and account reconciliations (i.e. late payment notices, small balance letters, eviction notices, returned check memos).
  • Responds to client and leasing agent inquiries (written and verbal) regarding resident and prospective resident accounts.
  • Process resident and prospective resident refunds (e.g. refund administration fees for declined residents and double payments from residents).
  • Complete write-offs after 60 days on uncollectable balances from former residents and sending to an outside collections agency.
  • Makes regularly scheduled collection requests to residents (via telephone, email, text, etc.) when accounts become delinquent.
  • Deliver 5-day notices for non-payment of rent and appear in court for evictions cases if needed.
  • Collects rental checks from offices, mailboxes, and rent boxes in the Chicago portfolio and deposits them on a daily basis.
  • Collects laundry cash from various locations and deposits all cash and coins in a timely manner.
  • Organize and file all applicable reports, leases, and paperwork. Enter all traffic, telephone calls, leases, cancellations, renewals, daily, etc. activity into Salesforce.
  • Perform ongoing resident services initiatives as needed, including answering incoming telephone calls with company-issued headset using MAC telephone greeting standards, and handle accordingly (prospect calls, resident issues, service requests, etc.)
  • Assist with resident concerns or related activities as requested by management.
  • Understand, apply, and comply with all company policies and procedures and all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all areas of job performance. Project a professional image and demeanor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ of related accounting experience required. Experience in multi-family property management preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Word and Excel. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication, business judgment, decision making, and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace, perform duties while under pressure, meet deadlines in a timely manner, and interact/communicate with other associates, residents, visitors, management, and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
