About the role
The Accounting Supervisor will have overall responsibility for supervision of staff accountant(s); preparing and reviewing journal entries, account schedules (workpapers); review of sales and use tax, year end tax and audit requests, and general accounting assigned for corporate functions.

What you'll be doing

  • Review ACH/wire transfers, journal entries, bank rec s, trial balances, workpapers and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting
  • Provide general supervision/training as needed
  • Prepare and monitor ACH/wire transfers and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and process journal entries, including standard recurring entries, accounting for bi-weekly payroll, recording cash receipts, monthly accruals, etc.
  • Review trial balances to ensure accuracy and prepare supporting Workpapers
  • Analyze and resolve all open or reconciling items on account schedules in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, including variance analysis, financial statements, Fiscal Disclose Packs.
  • Ability to communicate with various department and business unit heads to obtain information.
  • Prepare Revenue by State files, monthly state sales and use tax filings, yearend tax supporting items, and ad hoc requests
  • Provide supporting documentation as needed for auditors, assist with yearend US GAAP footnotes, preparation of fiscal disclosure workpapers
  • Provide other analysis/reporting as needed, process improvements and special projects

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands to manipulate phones, computer keyboard and similar tools. Ability to view computer screens, mobile devices, and other electronic equipment, for extended periods of time. Sit and stand to perform administrative work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs.

Work is performed in an office environment. Employee must travel throughout the company footprint as required.

Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a dedicated accounting environment
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Proficiency in MS Office products with advanced working knowledge with excel.
  • Timberline experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of general ledger, bank and account reconciliations, ACH/wire transfers and workpaper preparation and review.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with various teams, departments and coworkers.
  • Possession of a valid state issues driver s license and safe driving record are required
