Edward Rose & Sons is a family owned company providing modest to brand new luxury apartment communities throughout the Midwest and surrounding states. We handle all phases of development: from land acquisition to construction to management and maintenance.

We are looking for a professional and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist. Accounting Specialists assist apartment communities with their accounts payable needs and work with other office personnel in maintaining an organized work atmosphere. This is an entry level position.

Other Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Conducting oneself in a professional manner as a company representative, demonstrating sound judgment and conduct.
  • Review and process accounts payable for multiple entities.
  • Ensure invoices are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review and compare purchase orders, pricing and payment terms.
  • Knowledge of multi-state sales tax and use tax laws.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
  • Process month-end reports including bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliation, and payment summaries.
  • Collaborate with other departments and offsite team members.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or 1-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Yardi Voyager or related property management software experience preferred but willing to train.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping procedures and accounts payable principles.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and ability to independently problem solve.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Urgency to complete tasks.
  • Able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing, including over the phone.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
