Role:

To support the financial management, operations of the credit union including activities related to EFT/ACH and share-draft operations. To include daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs accounting duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures and under moderate supervision.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Responsible daily processing of posting, balancing, processing of returns of the share draft file information in a timely manner. Providing assistance with research, problems or questions from members, clearinghouses, or correspondents.

Serves as backup in the ACH file processing of all incoming activity; reviews all ACH debits and credits for accurate and timely posting and reconciliation. Processes stop-payments, late returns, DNEs, and WSOUDs.

Performs daily, weekly, or monthly reconciliations on designated general ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness. (ie..General ledger variance, vault cash, daily check register, corporate account)

Assists with the accounts payable functions to include reviewing all invoices for appropriate approval prior to payment; payment, reconciliation of vendor statements; fixed asset maintenance and processing of 1099 MISC annually.

Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and comply with all regulations which apply to the scope of processing draft and electronic items.

Perform all tasks with minimal error within the designated time frame to ensure deadlines are achieved.

Contacts other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve common problems.

Assists in performing various tasks in order to ensure that financials are CLOSED timely and accurately.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

To process and reconcile daily reports and official checking account.

To prepare all reports within the prescribed time frame and with zero errors.

To keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily.

To troubleshoot and resolve internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.

To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.

To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.

To analyze company accounting data and develop recommendations on cost reductions and efficiencies.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education

A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills

Must be able to operate a 10 calculator by touch. Must be able to use PC spreadsheet software.

This position regularly works in an office setting. Most of the job duties require the employee to be working with computers and electronic media on a regular basis.

Pay: $15.75 - $21.01 per hour
