Position Summary:
Reports to the supervisor, accounting. Responsible for performing routine accounting duties to maintain office
functions in compliance with government and management directives.

Starting at $21.53 an hour
Mon-Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm

Essential Functions:
1. Type correspondence, reports and letters.
2. Proofread material to verify accuracy.
3. Maintain accounting records, vendor files and employee payroll files.
4. Maintain appropriate office supplies.
5. Operate office equipment such as calculating machines and computers.
6. Prepare and process accurate payable vouchers, journal entries and other accounting data.
7. Assist accounting supervisor with CIS pay accountability, distribution and reconciliation.
8. Assist accounting supervisor in maintaining accountability of cost disbursements and receipts journals;
replenish petty cash and deposit receipts according to policy.
9. Coordinate ordering, receipt, distribution, reconciliation and payment of student local transportation
(TRANSPASS) coupons.
10. Prepare cash reports and payroll transmittal; cut checks; process student fines/charges.
11. Print, post, distribute and maintain associated files for accounts payable checks.
12. Participate in required staff training.
13. Participate in student employability programs and activities to include participation in small learning
teams.
14. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring
students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
15. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
16. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
17. Actively participate in small learning teams.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as
determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and six months clerical experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills and computer proficiency also required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving
record, unless waived by management.
