What do we need?

As a St. Joe's Accountant, you will support the organization by processing, tracking and reporting key financial information. This includes performing a variety of Accounting task and processes in all areas of the department, including general ledger, receivables, reconciliations and internal audits.

More specifically, the candidate chosen for this role:

  • Maintains compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, organizational policy and procedures and guidelines issued by licensing agents.
  • Manages financial tracking and financial reports for agency grants.
  • Performs internal audits and reconciliations of accounts to ensure compliance to policy and procedures and best accounting practices.
  • Enters, posts and reconciles A/R billing for various programs and revenue sources.
  • Responsible for general ledger posting of deposits, payroll data, expenses, and other financial activities.
  • Tracks and reconciles various records for programs including expenditures and influx of funds.
  • Maintains records for and assists with annual audit.
  • Assists with month end closings.
  • Manages tracking, recording and reporting of agency cash and liquid assets.
  • Works with finance team during fundraising events including annual picnic.
  • Collaborates with team on agency Wellness Program.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Business.
  • One to two year’s work experience in an Accounting or Finance office environment preferred.
  • Experience in accounting programs, Sage100 preferred
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications including excel and word.

  • Sitting at a desk for up to eight (8) hours.
  • Entering Data/Keystrokes.
  • Office Environment.
