Clemson University's Department of Philosophy and Religion is looking for an Accountant / Fiscal Analyst II to fulfill the following duties:

  • Serves as Fiscal Analyst performing daily financial and analytical duties for the Department of Philosophy and Religion.
  • Works closely with department chair on all budget and strategic planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:


50% - Essential - Fiscal Management:
Maintains up to date departmental budget plans, documents and associated records. Attends all University and College budget meetings for staff. Calculates and prepares fiscal records for university system (BuyWays, budget transmittal forms, interdepartmental orders, and payroll). Coordinates all budget issues with College budget office and ensures all university budget policies are followed appropriately. Handles budget adjustments and reconciliations as needed. Ensures submission of accurate budgets as a part of annual budget development process. Monitors restricted fund balances. Reconciles and forecasts revenue generation.

25% - Essential - Fiscal Liaison:
Handles dual employment and special pay for faculty. Handles all reimbursements for travel, events, speakers, visitors, etc. Coordinates with other administrative staff to process faculty travel requests and professional development purchases in a timely manner. Assists faculty with budgetary planning associated with grants and contracts.

15% - Essential - Data Analysis:
Performs data analysis (personnel, budget, enrollment, etc.) in support of departmental strategic planning.

10% - Essential - Coordinated Activities:
Serves as office manager on all essential duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education - High School Diploma

Work Experience - Professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.

Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


80% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
10% - Walk or move about
5% - Ascend or descend (i.e. stairs, ladder)
50% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORK SCHEDULE:


Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($ 35,360.00 - $ 45,000.00)

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL


Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
