POSITION SUMMARY
The accountant performs month-end, quarterly and year-end financial close duties including account reconciliations, advanced journal entries, account analysis and reporting. They will also participate in and support other team members across the accounting department as needed and other accounting projects as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Record Financial Transactions: Record journal entries and other transactions in the GL as required
  • Account Reconciliations: Build, reconcile, review, document and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and subledgers.
  • Financial Reporting: Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness. Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reports as scheduled. Prepare reports detailing financial variances, trends and modeling (what-if analysis) as requested by management. Assist with year-end and interim audit preparation and requests.
  • Software Initiatives: Support ongoing technology initiatives through design, testing, and implementation.
  • Special projects and support for other Accounting Department needs to include but not limited to: Supply Chain and Warehouse Management system implementations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, including financial close, reconciliations, analysis and reporting.
  • Primary skills and tools: Advanced PC skills including Word, Excel, Google Suite, Netsuite or working knowledge of similar general ledger and ERP systems.
  • Secondary systems: AS400, WorkDay, Solution 7
  • Ability to identify procedural and internal control weaknesses and provide suggestions and guidance for improvement.
  • Must possess the time management and organizational skills necessary to work quickly and effectively under pressure with the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment, concentrating on several areas of work at one time.
