Purpose of Job:


Organize, manage, coordinate and monitor district-wide instructional programs and personnel and the Response to Intervention and Instruction (RTI) program in each school in order to improve students’ academic performance. This position’s instructional support will focus on grades 3-8.


Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as needed.


General Responsibilities/Essential Functions
:

  • Direct the Lebanon Special School District’s Response to Intervention (RTI2) Program and all associated Tennessee Department of Education requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to swiftly and accurately understand complex data and perform analysis
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research-based reading and mathematics instructional programs and strategies
  • Provide a focused supervisory and support initiative for all subjects in grades 3 - 8 and regularly communicate efforts/outcomes to Director of Teaching and Learning
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with principals, staff, students, etc. to exchange information
  • Assist Teachers with ways to enhance and improve teaching methods and techniques
  • Monitor and provide leadership for the continuous revising of the curriculum
  • Facilitate a community and school relationship by coordinating unified activities to promote our schools in the community
  • Provide assistance to teachers in locating materials, teaching aids, programs, etc.
  • Assist in planning / providing staff development for curriculum related issues
  • Collaborate with and support school administrators and teachers with academic interventions including data analysis, fidelity of Tier 2 and 3 interventions as well as differentiated Tier 1 instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with and support schools in creating enrichment projects for advanced learners
  • Collaborate with and support school administrators in the best practices of Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
  • Ensure that the use of the district’s resources (time, money, people) are used in the most strategic and effective way possible
  • Abide by the Tennessee Teacher Code of Ethics
  • Assist with district-wide formative assessment implementation and creation


Other Duties and Responsibilities


  • Project a positive image of the LSSD at all times and support district goals
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of district information
  • Support the effective delivery of a high quality of education for all students
  • Provide exceptional levels of professional support and service to staff and public
  • May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities
  • Successful completion of Criminal Justice fingerprint/background process and drug screen
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license, preferably, ELA and Math certified
  • Five or more years of teaching experience
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director of Teaching and Learning or Director of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
