The Gulfsouth Autism Center is looking for compassionate, patient, and dedicated people to work with the children and families we support through clinic-based therapy services at our Metairie location. Our unique organization helps children on the Autism Spectrum advance their skills in communication, social and daily interactions, and much more.

ABA technicians are trained and closely supervised by our on-site licensed psychologists and behavior analysts. It is excellent experience for those pursuing advanced education in psychology, behavior analysis, speech-language pathology, education, and social work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree; preference given to those with degrees in psychology, communication disorders, education, counseling, or a closely-related field.
• Valid driver’s license or Louisiana-issued state ID
• Pass a background check
• Have reliable transportation

Preferred:

• 6 months experience working with children.
• Previous experience as an ABA therapist or technician

Position Details:

• Can lift up to 20 pounds.
• Communication with clinical staff, office staff, and a patient’s family is essential.
• Duties will include assisting with daily living skills such as dressing, hygiene, and toileting.
• Accurate implementation of treatment protocol.

Benefits:

• The starting hourly rate after training is $16.25 per hour depending on experience. Advances in pay are available based on annual performance reviews.
• Training is paid at $10 per hour and lasts 1-2 weeks.
• Paid holidays are available upon hire for full time employees
• Lunch break, morning/afternoon short break if needed
• Clinic-based position - no travel, no nights, no weekends
