JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

RATE OF PAY: Grade 2, starting at $12.27 hr.

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 40

NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR: 12 months

LOCATION: Main Office in North Tazewell, Virginia

This position is classified as Medium Risk for COVID-19 Standards.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Weatherization Crew Technician’s responsibilities are to assist the Weatherization Crew Supervisor meet the standards of the Weatherization program as well as other programs that fall under the weatherization component. Keeps weatherization tools and equipment in safe and operating condition by providing schedule maintenance. Weatherizes homes of clients. Works as a team member and is willing to work in any capacity within other Agency programs. Will strive to work towards the Agency Mission. Good work ethic. Attendance is a mandatory job function. Works toward ROMA goals;

EDUCATION: Must be experienced in carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades; Must be able to read, write and compute math/Prefer computer literate; Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and willing to have access to personal vehicle that may be necessary for work; Must be willing to travel overnight and be willing to attend out-of-town training;

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Holding a contractor’s license would be preferred;

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Prior to hire, with conditional employment, the individual must submit to and have satisfactory criminal background check, national sex offender check, satisfactory reference checks (minimum of two), a pre-employment drug/alcohol test, and complete a Sworn Disclosure statement. After initial hire, the employee must submit to Child Protective Services check, DMV check, TB Screening or PPD, and possibly other vaccinations as required by the Housing Director. The individual may need to have or secure first-aid certification and CPR certification. The individual must have reliable transportation, hold a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record, provide proof of automobile liability insurance, and be willing to use personal automobile for work purposes. S/He must agree to submit to random, and, if applicable, post-accident and reasonable suspicion, drug/alcohol tests;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and requires constant or extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, hearing, seeing, speaking, climbing, crawling, and lifting;
