Warehouse I - District Operations Center


This is an 8 hour/day - 12 month position under the Classified Bargaining Unit. The start date is July 1, 2023.

DEFINITION

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, receives direction from the Custodial Supervisor, receives and distributes a variety of goods, furnishings and mail to sites and other locations as necessary to conduct daily business. Performs other related duties as required.


DISTINQUISHING CHARACTERS

Performs tasks involving maintenance of Central Warehouse and Central Receiving. Distributes goods to District buildings. Considerable skill and knowledge of computerized warehouse systems including mainframe and PC based applications and purchasing procedures are necessary.


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Maintain Central Warehouse inventory, accomplish the daily on-line input of items that are pulled to fill orders, as well as generate periodic inventory reports, review and research existing methods and procedures of inventory control and make recommendations to the Facilities Manager and/or the Custodial Supervisor on areas where improvements could be made. Pick-up and delivery services to include, but not limited to, food items, food carts, technology equipment, maintenance parts and equipment, supplies, furnishings, mail, bank deposit bags and payroll checks. Accomplish the daily on-line input of items received by the Central Warehouse, matching shipping lists against orders received. Responsible to report truck mechanical problems to appropriate personnel.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS


Knowledge of:

  • Safe driving practices and traffic laws;
  • Safe lifting practices;
  • Proper securing of loads and material.

Ability to:

  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and networked applications;
  • Good communication skills;
  • To operate forklift;
  • To work independently;
  • To follow written and oral instructions;
  • Use and navigate computer technology and all relevant software programs as necessary;
  • Must routinely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance;
  • Ability to work in a professional, harmonious manner with a variety of staff members;
  • Complete all district required trainings.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules, Oregon Department of Education.
