Job Title: Warehouse Lead Specialist Classification: Non-Exempt, FT

Reports to: Warehouse Operations Manager Campus: All

Supervises: Warehouse Specialists Schedule: Day


Job Summary

The Lead Warehouse Specialist is responsible to perform work under the planning and direction of their Warehouse Supervisor, or Manager, and to complete the daily workload, supervise safety, productivity, accuracy, and teamwork for their assigned associates. Enforce company rules and regulations; provide Supervisors/Manager with accurate and timely reporting on workload assignments and meet profitability goals for the department(s). The Team Lead will also provide direct customer focused based mentorship to all warehouse associates.


Essential Duties & responsibilities


1.Ensure all assigned associates are punctual throughout their shift.
2.Control and direct the daily workload in your assigned area including cycle counts and physical inventory.
3.Supervise receiving, put away, order selection, and loading processes.
4.Ensure all paperwork is signed, dated, accurate.
5.Ensure that the daily material handling equipment inspection is followed.
6.Maintain your work area to safety and sanitation quality standards.
7.Report any unsafe conditions or problems.
8.Ensure completion of all daily labor productivity reporting requirements
9.Take corrective action with associates when required.
10.Identify and train your replacement with warehouse supervisor/manager approval.
11.Be available to your supervisor/manager for project assignments.
12.Participate with other Team Leaders in managing SOP guidelines.
13.Assist in establishing goals and measuring progress.

14.Assist with performance reviews/evaluations.
15.Challenge all unrecognized/unauthorized visitors.
16.Ensure that all contracted workers have received their orientation including roll call and evacuation procedures.
17.Control security of product storage areas and manage carrier drivers’ access.
18.Report broken equipment and fixtures immediately.
19.Lead your Team to achieve customer key performance indicators and customer performance metrics.
20.Manage the space efficiently.
21.Perform all other duties as assigned.
22.Must perform all work duties required and forward all paperwork to the Customer Service office.
23.Respond to safety-related incidents in the capacity in which I am trained.
24.eSafety Training Modules: Must complete assigned eSafety training modules in a timely manner.
Must attend all required safety and Ups & Downs meetings as scheduled.
25.Employee must be able to read small print to distinguish product and lot numbers, see areas where product is stored, and distinguish motorized equipment operating in the vicinity.
26.Employee must be able to distinguish product labels and placards that are color coded. Use peripheral vision to scan racked area and use depth perception to accomplish bulk storage and retrieval.


Education:


Required: High School Diploma or equivalent


Experience:

Required: 2 -3 years in related fieldPreferred: over 3 years in related field


KNOWLEDGE

Required: Read and count accurately, do simple math, write legibly, fire extinguishment (know which extinguisherto use on certain fires), placard rules, loading capacities and compatibility, and storage arrangements for flammable and combustible liquids.


Preferred: CPR and first aid Certified

The characteristics of the work environment includes: Working around moving material handling equipment, occasional outdoor work; work in a non-temperature-controlled environment; exposure to vibration from equipment operation; exposure to some noise of material handling equipment.
