Job Title: Operations Assistant

Department: Operations

Responsible to: Returns and Dispatch Supervisors

Job Purpose: Perform duties in any Operations Department

Hours: 40 hours over a 5-day week, Monday to Friday

Personal Specification

This role would suit an individual with some warehouse/ service/administration skills. A calm, organised and flexible manner is needed to keep to tight and pressurised deadlines. You will have an understanding that much of the work is physical and manual however, you will also require good knowledge of standard IT packages (Word, Outlook and Windows) in order to learn the Hire and Sales processing system. Some knowledge of our industry and the desire to learn about our kit is desirable but this role is predominantly a logistics role, and for someone wanting to build their career in operations.

Job Description

  • The team works to ensure that all equipment movement is accurate to the paperwork provided. An organised work area must be maintained at all times to ensure accuracy & effectiveness
  • To act as the first and last point of quality assurance for all other White Light departments.
  • To ensure that the Hires Processing System is adhered to at all times and where faults occur that the correct department is notified before equipment is dispatched.
  • To ensure that any damage to dispatched equipment is reported to the relevant department
  • To assist in the maintenance of accurate stock levels with the hires stock
  • Ensure accuracy of paperwork and procedures relevant to the dispatch/return of White Light goods
  • To ensure that all personal callers are dealt with in a professional manner
  • Ensure the timely dispatch/return of hire equipment in liaison with the other Warehouse teams
  • To work alongside the other Warehouse teams and communicate effectively
  • To generate business for the company and promote customer satisfaction
  • To learn about the company and its activities in order to understand and deal with the customers
  • To represent the company in a courteous and appropriate manner in any circumstances
  • To follow correct procedures at all times and to follow the policies laid out in the staff handbook
  • To ensure that Health and Safety Guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain and enhance the quality of the White Light service at all times.
  • To arrive for work in time to start your daily duties at the specified time
  • To maintain health and hygiene standards at all times.
  • To carry out your duties/responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Core Values of White Light at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £22,984.00-£23,500.00 per year
