Vice President, Institutional Markets Business Strategy

The Vice President will join Global Atlantic's New York-based Institutional business. We are a principal investing team within Global Atlantic Financial Group, subsidiary of KKR. We are focused on deploying capital on reinsurance and acquisition opportunities in the US Insurance Industry. To date, the Institutional business has acquired over $100 billion of assets.

The Vice President on the Institutional Markets COO team will be based in our NY office to provide strategic leadership, business management and coordination in support of Global Atlantic's Institutional Markets activities. This role will set the tone by developing, implementing and executing a strategy to ensure our Institutional Markets business, inclusive of our block reinsurance, pension risk transfer and flow business as well as the Ivy sidecars which Global Atlantic established in 2020, can most effectively and efficiently continue their exceptional growth. The COO must be a nimble and flexible leader who can evolve with the changing needs of the business by creating sustainable relationships, protocols, and processes to support new initiatives as well as optimizing the current platform. This role will have significant contact and visibility with senior executives of the Institutional business and the Bermuda reinsurance and corporate entities.

The candidate will work closely with the COO of Institutional Markets and other management team members of the Institutional business and cross-functional partners, interfacing with business leaders and senior management to:

  • Assist with business strategy, including: creating and documenting new processes, examining existing operations and implementing improvements, tracking key metrics, and assisting with the annual business planning process
  • Collaborate both within the Institutional business, as well as with other areas such as Investments, Risk, Actuarial, Finance, and Legal
  • Assist in driving agenda for key Global Atlantic strategic initiatives via various key committees (e.g., Operating, New Activities, strategic projects investment and execution, etc.)
  • Developing the format of and content for governance materials and internal presentations
  • Prepare materials for Global Atlantic's Board of Directors and senior management
  • Drive and coordinate key strategic initiatives via Global Atlantic Operating Committee
  • Fostering a culture that embraces diversity and inclusion for all team members, aligning to and executing on company objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in insurance-focused investment banking, insurance-focused private equity or asset-management business is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with superior presentation abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Thrives on change and continuous improvement; possesses high regard for transparency and collaboration
  • Demonstrates ability to create value through operational and continuous improvement; solutions-oriented with high sense of urgency
  • Strong collaborating and influencing skills with the ability to appreciate different and varied approaches and opinions in a thoughtful and inclusive manner
  • Possess unquestionable integrity, ethical, and moral character

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office.

Global Atlantic's base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic's total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. The base salary range for this role is $149,000 to $286,000
