Job Description
The Vice President of Administration (VPA) provides vision, leadership, and strategic direction for finance, facilities, safety, security, financial aid, Information Technology (IT), and administrative services and auxiliary enterprises which contribute to the achievement of the College’s strategic goals. The VPA reports directly to the College President, and as a senior leader of the college is valuable member of the Executive Cabinet providing critical input to the President and the Cabinet on key college issues and opportunities. This requires compatibility and a commitment to shared goals with the College President and with the college’s management team, as well as the ability to establish and maintain productive collegial and professional working relationships with the internal and external community.
Consistent with the College’s mission, this leader will demonstrate a strong commitment to the value of diversity among students and staff, as well as sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of St. Cloud Technical and Community College staff and students. The VPA works together with colleagues to create a strong sense of fiscal accountability across campus and creates an atmosphere of trust and respect in which all can succeed.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, Public Administration, or related field
Type and Length of Experience:
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in managerial accounting, financial management, and project management in a medium to large multi-faceted organization including progressively responsible managerial, supervisory, and administrative experience.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external administrators, faculty, staff, students, and foundation members to facilitate understanding of the college budget and empower others to support effective teaching and learning and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and communicate written, graphic, and oral reports, and performance dashboards and reports to internal and external administrators, faculty, staff, students, foundation members, Minnesota State and state officials, and the public.
  • Possess sufficient technical knowledge to collect relevant data, analyze and research situations, and solve problems effectively.
  • Possess short and long-term operational and strategic planning skills and a commitment to continuous improvement in keeping with the organizations AQIP accreditation process to help define the budget for college’s plans and move them toward a preferred future.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the college president, senior level administrators, bargaining unit leaders, the Minnesota State central office–including the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Facilities, the Office of Internal Auditor, the Office of Legislative Auditor, and the Department of Administration.
  • Effectively manage and report complex financial operations via reporting software, accounting systems, payroll system, and the student information system as it relates to the colleges and the system’s financial system.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
