Venue Assistant/Bar Back, Willow Brooke Farm

Job Summary:

This position is an hourly, weekend, part time position, reporting to the Operations Manager at Willow Brooke Farm. The Venue Assistant will work with the Venue Manager/Events Bar Manager and entire staff in order to maintain a high standard of service for clients hosting events at the facility. This position will start in June, with training dates in May.

Essential functions of the position include:

  • Interacting with guests and hosts of an event in professional and respectful manner
  • Assisting guests with their needs, from transport between wedding site and parking lot, to finding their way around the facility
  • Assist Operations Manager and Venue Manager with set up and tear down for all events
  • Tidy and maintain cleanliness for all buildings (Barrel Lounge, Farmhouse, Historic Barn and White Willow Barn) when needed during appropriate times throughout the event.
  • Be available to address needs as they come up
  • Monitoring the venue and guests throughout the event to ensure rules and regulations are being complied with, and communicating to Manager on Duty/Security if there are issues that need resolution
  • Exhibit personal attributes of hospitality, cooperation, accountability, creativity, and enthusiasm for all facets of the organization
  • Communicate with your Supervisor in advance about your schedule and time – off request; in case of emergencies or sick days, contact your Supervisor immediately and coordinate a coworker substitute to cover your event as needed
  • Represent Willow Brooke Farm in the best possible way at all times during the event

Additional Pertinent Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with large scale events as needed
  • Assist Venue Manager as needed (i.e. picking up liter and making sure grounds look spotless!)
  • Creating a culture that reflects the values and goals of the organization
  • Setting for events as required, which would include setting up tables and chairs for all events at WBF, as well as tear down of tables and chairs post event

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Spirit of service and team player mentality
  • Creative problem solving skills and initiative to tackle problems that may arise
  • High School Diploma preferred but not required
  • Experience within the customer service industry is a plus
