Rates up to $18 an hour

Transportation/Security (FT, 8:00am-4:30pm, E/O weekend, may be required to cover extra shifts)

Primary Functions: Maintains security coverage of the community (grounds, buildings) and monitors all alarms and communication systems as to malfunctions or repairs. Assists other departments as required or as prescribed by supervisor. Transportation of residents and employees. Operation and mechanical and cosmetic maintenance of limousine, bus, and company vehicles as necessary to provide quality service to residents.

Qualifications: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have working experience that demonstrates a good communication techniques, i.e. written and verbal reports. Must have a valid driver's license. Current EMT or EMR a plus. Must be willing to get EMR certification.

Responsibilities:

1. Priority duties include investigation of fire and medical alarms systems, plus investigation of any incidents endangering the security of residents, staff and/or community.

2. Drives individual residents to doctor's offices, hospitals, etc., as directed.

3. Makes walking rounds of the community(grounds/buildings) and systems as prescribed by the VP of Facilities Services. The punching of a watch clock is required at designated locations. Walking rounds are to be staggered so as not to establish a set pattern which could be identified.

4. Performs minor repairs, replaces lightbulbs, shuts off water, electricity, cleans up spills, pulls trash, etc.

5. Assists in snow/ice control as directed.

6. Reports incidents of fire, theft, burglary, etc., immediately to the VP of Facilities Services.

7. Makes routine operational checks of equipment and systems to ensure temperatures and desired levels are being maintained on HVAC, water, sewage, and alarm systems.

8. Activates alarm systems where necessary and documents events pertaining to them. Maintains night log.

9. Assists residents with packages/luggage, to and from parking areas, where needed.

10. May be required to work overtime occasionally in the event of an emergency or special assignment.

11. Is responsible for the care and cleanliness of the fleet of vehicles.

12. Displays flexibility in assuming other duties in the Maintenance department as needs require.

13. Collects trash throughout the community.

14. Reports deficiencies to supervisor.
15. Performs duties in a safe manner.
