Transition Consultant/Student Services - Summit ESC
Term: 2023-2024 School Year, Full-time

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree as an Intervention Specialist
  • Current valid standard Ohio intervention specialist or career-technical teaching license or certificate preferred
  • Transition to Work endorsement preferred
  • 1 year of high school experience preferred
  • 5-6 years of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Other qualifications that the Board may find acceptable
Position duties may include the following responsibilities:
Keeps current with professional and trade certification requirements. Prioritizes and completes assigned tasks within required time-frames.
  • Facilitates program compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal laws.
  • Guides staff in the use of formal/informal assessment strategies to gauge student progress toward achievement benchmarks.
  • Identifies emerging career fields and skills valued by employers.
  • Works with business/community leaders to obtain work-based learning opportunities for students.
  • Helps students use career-focused resource materials to understand academic requirements linked to vocational objectives.
  • Coordinates job-related services when required (e.g., work site adaptations, job coaching).
  • Participates in development of IEP, attends meetings, and reports on progress toward goals.
  • Provides employment, post-secondary training, and transition agency information (e.g., college, university, technical schools, military services, OOD, SCB/DD, ADM,). Updates scholarship and financial aid information.
  • Helps students make appropriate choices and grow academically. Promotes creativity, critical-thinking, cultural awareness, democratic values, empathy, ethical conduct, and self-reliance skills.
  • Evaluates operational performance. Identifies short/long-range program needs and opportunities. Communicates this to Director of Pupil Services to achieve goals and effectively meet the needs of districts.
  • Performs other such duties as assigned by the superintendent, designee, or district contact

Salary:
Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training
