Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technician

Band 4 - Full time
Hours: 37.5 , all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
Our Mortuary Team are looking for a flexible, caring, and enthusiastic person who will under supervision assist in post-mortem examinations, admit, conduct viewings or ID's, and release the deceased in line with local standard procedures, and will provide support to the HM Coroner, Pathologists, Police, Bereavement and Medical Examiners staff while working towards their level 3 diploma qualification in Anatomical Pathology. We currently look after approximately 1300 deceased's a year and undertake approximately 260 coroners and forensic post mortems per year and are licensed by the Human Tissue Authority.
Working as part of a small team to provide a professional and efficient mortuary service to the trust and H.M. Coroner. The role is varied and includes on call or out of hours, the work is interesting and hugely fulfilling where, amongst other responsibilities, you will ensure the dignity of the deceased is always maintained and that the deceased family are supported.

- To possess the ability to work alone and under pressure when needed
- To be flexible and accommodate the needs of the department and its users
- Copes well with responsibility
