Remora is hiring a Test Technician who will work closely with our testing and development team. The Test Technician will help build test setups and test benches and help run testing, all while helping to tackle the defining challenge of our time.
We’re a 50-person climate tech startup based in Detroit, MI. We build a device that captures a semi-truck’s carbon emissions directly from the tailpipe. We sell the CO2 to end-users, and split that revenue with our customers, so our device pays for itself in just a couple years.
We’re piloting our technology with some of the largest companies in the world, including three of the Fortune 10, and we’ve raised multiple rounds of funding from leading investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, and First Round Capital.
Responsibilities:
- Run tests in accordance with provided test plans
- Collect and store the necessary data requested in the test plans
- Build/modify test benches and test setups including integration of mechanical and electrical components
- Help with road tests and driving class 8 trucks during road tests
- Operate dynamometer and ensure it can be used consistently for testing
- Perform needed maintenance tasks for the diesel engine in the dynamometer
- Perform needed maintenance and updates for test trucks and test benches
- Assist with other miscellaneous tasks in the workshop (like fabricating, drilling, sawing, etc.)
Requirements:
- CDL A or B license with air brake endorsement
- Experience with running and setting up test systems
- Experience operating hand and power tools
- Good communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
