*Temporary Activity Director*

We are looking for an experienced Activities and Guest Services Director to join our team. The Activities and Guest Services Director will be responsible for rounding on patients daily, manage and create activities and events, and maintain equipment and rooms for their activities. This director position has one to two associates that report to them on a daily basis.

Guest Services Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Services is responsible for promoting excellent relations for Sapphire Estates Rehab Centre by reinforcing concerns, and a desire to fill the needs of all internal guest with a positive attitude. Guest Services is responsible for greeting all guest and providing assistance to all guest and family members, provides information as needed, ensures families informed at all times and provides information on all services that enhance overall patient satisfaction.

Activities Duties and Responsibilities

The director will manage the department’s staff. This will include interviewing and hiring staff members, providing training, creating schedules, filing time sheets and performing disciplinary actions or terminations. The Activity Director will be responsible for the creation and programming of both recreational and therapeutic activities. They will work with other staff to develop and implement programs, but they are responsible for ensuring these programs meet any federal or state regulations and are safe and appropriate for seniors. The Director will also create an event schedule and ensure it is well communicated with guest and followed by staff. In addition to overseeing the staff and the activities, the Director must also manage the department. This means they see to the day-to-day operations of the program.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with and assisting elderly populations as well as strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will also have a positive attitude, enthusiasm for the job, excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise judgment. In addition to these traits, we are looking for a candidate with the following skill set.

Core skills:

Proficient computer skills

CPR licensed and trained in first aid

Experience working in a skilled nursing facility

Physically able to perform duties such as standing for long periods, squatting, bending and lifting heavy objects

Valid driver’s license

Level One Fingerprint Card

Certified Activity Professional (preferred)
