Job Description


The Talent Acquisition Lead is responsible for planning and implementing recruiting strategies for the organization in conjunction with the HR Director, phone interviewing candidates, managing open requisitions, and providing attentive service to candidates. She/he works closely with the Director of Human Resources and hiring managers on to determine recruitment needs and hire the most qualified candidates. All the duties and responsibilities of this position must be carried out with the highest level of confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Recruit applicants for open positions including: writing and posting job openings to attract qualified applicants and/or communicating openings to agencies; directing applicants to the online system; planning, advertising, and coordinating interview events; and selecting/ participating in job fairs throughout the year.
  • Maintain the online recruiting system for VFES. Manage changes/improvements to the system, assist supervisors as needed, and ensure job postings are accurate and current.
  • Manage multiple open requisitions effectively.
  • Liaise with hiring supervisors to verify applicants meet position qualifications, confirm salary requirements, and facilitate the interview process as requested. When the hiring decision is made, confirm references are completed, extend a written offer of employment and implement the Act 168 process. 5. With Vanguard leadership, coordinate ESY staffing needs, recruiting initiatives, hiring responsibilities, and in-service training activities.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff and agency workers ensuring compliance with required documents and timelines.
  • Demonstrate competency in each of the VFES core values: Communication and Listening, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Ethics, Professionalism, and Teamwork.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures including those stated in the VFES Policies & Procedures manual and additional verbal and written communications provided to staff members.
  • Maintain a professional, confidential and ethical relationship with administrators, colleagues, parents, students, and others at all times.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, in-service activities, and other meetings as required.
  • Remain educationally informed in all related areas including PDE regulations through continued professional study and attending workshops and conferences.
  • Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned.

Qualifications


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred; relevant, equivalent experience also considered.
  • Five or more years of talent acquisition experience, preferably in a non-profit and/or educational setting. Experience should include: sourcing candidates, interviewing, and experience with DEI hiring initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hiring managers across different departments.
  • Ability to manage a high number of open requisitions at once.
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency to provide attentive candidate care (i.e., keeping candidates updated and moving through the recruitment process).
  • Knowledge of employment law, background clearance requirements, teacher certification processes and PA Department of Education regulations is a plus (Acts 126, 168, etc.).
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be an effective communicator and team player with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work effectively, manage multiple tasks, perform work with a high degree of accuracy, and maintain sensitive, confidential information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all constituents (staff members, administrators, board members and others) in all situations.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage intellectually and physically in all components of the work process.
