The Arc of Spokane is now accepting applications for Driver/client support professionals to join our Transportation team. We are looking for individuals who are intelligent, team-oriented and who want to make a difference in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We currently have part-time driving position(s) open, with the possibility of quickly transitioning in to full-time. Position is more than just driving! The selected applicant will be responsible for completing a schedule of appointments for our clients; supporting our clients while in the vehicle; ensuring safe transport to and from appointments/shopping; and operating an oversized Para-transit van with a wheelchair lift for the agency.
Requirements:
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be minimum age 25 (for insurance purposes)
- Ability to pass required fingerprint background checks
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for the past five years
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to attend and complete all required trainings provided
- Will be required to pass agency provided STA driver training
- Willingness to support people's needs positively while treating them with dignity and respect
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in this field is preferred but not mandatory
- Have valid vehicle insurance
Part-time 24 hours per week with the potential to become Full-time up to 40 hours per week.
Compensation: $21.00-23.10. DOE starting range, entire scale to $27.30 per hour, Non-exempt, Part time 24 hours per week. Medical, Dental, Life Insurance for positions 30+ hours per week, 13 Paid Holidays, Vacation and Personal Leave for positions 25+ hours per week; Sick leave for all positions.
A structured hiring bonus is offered to new staff as follows:
- $250.00 after 30 days of successful employment
- $500.00 after 90 days of successful employment
- $1000.00 after 120 days of successful employment and the completion of all required trainings
