ABOUT CASCADE:

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County.


We are looking for a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) or a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) to join our team! This position is responsible for delivery of clinical services to identified clients. Ability to collect date, analyze, interpret, and evaluate information gathered from the biopsychosocial and other assessment tools to adequately facilitate treatment planning with meaningful goals and objectives to meet the client’s needs.


An SUDPT works under the direct supervision of an approved supervisor who is a Substance Use Disorder Professional.


Starting November 1, 2022 Cascade Community Healthcare will not require the COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.


SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

This position will normally require that the employee work a standard, Monday through Thursday forty (40) hour week, 4-10 schedule. This position does include on-call phone rotations.


PAY SCALE:

SUDPT: $19.50 - $28.41

SUDP: $25.00 - $36.42


WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE:

SUDPT:

  • Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee credential with Washington State Department of Health.
  • Must be working towards an Associate Degree and/or Certification in Substance Use studies and enrolled in an approved school or completed supervision hours.
  • Must be able to pass a WA state background checks. A national background check may be required if have not lived in WA state consecutively the last three years.
  • Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to maintain up to date and meticulous records.
  • Must maintain current phone and mailing address on file with the Human Resources Office.

SUDP:

  • Substance Use Disorder Professional credential with Washington State Department of Health.
  • One year (minimum) of continuous working experience as a Substance Use Professional in an outpatient or inpatient Washington State approved substance use treatment facility.
  • Must be able to pass a WA state background checks. A national background check may be required if have not lived in WA state consecutively the last three years.
  • Must be able to represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to maintain up to date and meticulous records.
  • Must maintain current phone and mailing address on file with the Human Resources Office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Utilizes professional knowledge and skill on the biopsychosocial assessment. Provides outpatient groups according to curriculum.

  • Demonstrates the ability to collect data, analyze, interpret, and evaluate information gathered from the biopsychosocial and testing devices to adequately diagnose and facilitate treatment planning.
  • Includes as part of assessment information specific to the patterns of use, amounts, frequency, duration, and the effects of the described process of abuse/addiction in the client’s health and quality of life.
  • Gathers data from all reliable sources to assess patterns of abuse and addiction without violation of client’s rights or federal confidentiality regulations.
  • Participates in the ongoing assessment of client’s response to treatment planning and interventions, and updates accordingly per agency standards.
  • Contributes to the team process by demonstrating abilities in communication, organization, and time management.
  • Establishes treatment plan based upon diagnoses, addresses specific goals, defines expected outcomes, and delineates actions unique to each client’s needs.

Collaborates with client and colleagues in developing the plan of care.

  • Identifies priorities of care, States realistic goals in behavior and/or measurable terms with expected dates of accomplishment, and performs appropriate and varied interventions, individualized according to the client’s individual needs.
  • Establishes a process for discharge planning that provides for consultation, referral and follow up.
  • Evaluates potential suicide risk and is able to initiate prevention technique and demonstrates the ability to identify possible lethality behavior and intervenes appropriately.
  • Participates in continuing education activities relative to the field of substance use.
  • Is familiar with appropriate pharmacological knowledge to monitor the client’s care
  • Recognizes symptoms of withdrawal from the various chemicals and identifies and intervenes with AMA behaviors.

Demonstrates client education skills.

  • Follows appropriate content and methods for teaching the disease concept per agency philosophy and educates individuals families or significant others on the disease concept per agency philosophy.

Contributes to the smooth functioning of the agency.

  • Documents assessment results, treatment planning and client’s response to treatment and treatment planning in the client’s files.
  • Participates in agency quality management plan.
  • Assists clerical staff when needed.
  • Accurately documents client’s treatment hours and attendance on attendance sheet daily.
  • Collects random urine drug screens and oral drug screens as needed from clients as needed.

This position has regular and recurrent direct clinical contact with a diverse population.

  • Assesses and adjusts treatment plan to be compatible with the age, growth and development and needs of the client. Assesses client’s level of understanding and adjusts treatment appropriately. Provides client and/or family with information about the various aspects of the plan of care.
  • Portrays calm, reassuring manner when caring for clients and family.
  • Assesses physical age-related changes, e.g.: vision, hearing, and response to prescribed medication. Assesses age-related psycho/social issues, e.g.: educational needs, community resources, spiritual/cultural needs, and makes appropriate referral.
