We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our North America Forged Products operations which includes locations in Cudahy, WI, Irvine, CA, and East Hartford, CT. This position will be based in Cudahy, WI. The Staff Accountant will be a business partner responsible for monthly reporting of financial results and developing, analyzing, validating, and publishing financial data needed to support the Business and Finance teams in making key decisions. The successful candidate will be capable of driving detailed, tactical execution. This position will be the “Go-To” resource for the Finance team when it comes to building on and leveraging technology like our SAP datahub or Power BI, as well as better visualizing data to make informed operational decisions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Financial reporting and analytical support for our North America Forged Products operations.
- Prepare various month end journal entries and account reconciliations of varying complexity across multiple locations.
- Provide business with foundation to optimize financial decisions by performing and leading: monthly financial reporting, quarterly data submissions and implementation of actionable data analytics.
- Work with Digital Technology to create data dashboards to help the business better visualize financial data.
- Continuous improvement of the financial processes through education of managers on financial issues impacting their forecasts, including identifying ways in which to minimize costs and maximize performance.
- Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow, quality, and usability
- Lead or participate in ad-hoc analysis on business performance or special projects
- Other support as needed
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
Essential Skills
- Advanced experience with Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, as well as daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage business leaders and peers
- High level of financial acumen coupled with a hands-on attitude
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced, results oriented environment
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to evaluate options and implement solutions
- Experience in a manufacturing industry (preferred)
- Prior experience with BI tools to drive actionable analysis (preferred)
