Snail Games is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Flexi Game Engine Development Team. After you receive training on this new MMO engine, you’ll start using your knowledge of game development and experience programming to design the cutting edge features of the Flexi Game Engine. You’ll develop ownership over the systems and tools that enable production teams to build AAA MMO games with superior gameplay experience.
What you’ll do
Design and develop game engine technology based on the direction of team leads
Design and implement systems that support higher-level pipelines
Maintain and update existing systems/codebase for increased functionality and performance
Document technical implementation details
Work independently to complete assigned tasks and projects
Support the wider team in diagnosing problems and producing solutions
Keep current on technological developments in the game industry
Other duties as assigned
What we are looking for
Passion for games - You are familiar with the game engine landscape and engine features
Self-motivated and curious - you love to go deep and figure out how things works
Experience with programming - you’ve written over 10,000 lines of code
Requirements
2+ years of professional experience
Strong C/C++ programming abilities
Understanding of code performance considerations
Understanding of game engines core system tasks, graphics, tools, memory handling, script compilers etc
Experience with Game engine programming or a related field
Strong verbal and written communication
Nice to Have:
Experience with Lua
This position is fully remote but limited to applicants residing in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.
