Job description
Dematic has a need for a Shift Lead Controls Engineer in our Customer Service group. The schedule of this position will be 4 days on and 4 days off from 8:00 PM-8:00 AM. The successful candidate will be the Lead engineer for Night-shift and be able to manage and delegate escalation calls appropriately. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring communication with customers and allocating resources to customer sites.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $53,000 - $113,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will do in This Role:

  • Provide excelling customer service support to Dematic's customers

  • Delegate/escalate calls when necessary

  • Ensure proper resources are on-board at different customer locations

  • Find and dispatch field service Dematic employees to customer locations

  • Participate in the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software

  • Provide support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up

  • Participate in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction

  • Travel 15-20% is to be expected. This could include weekends and potential overtime hours may be required.

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field

  • 4+ years' experience in a related Customer Service position/controls engineering role

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls

  • Experience with controls hardware design

  • Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus

  • Troubleshooting experience

  • Experience in the material handling industry

  • Strong verbal communication skills over the phone

  • Experience working independently
