#1 Cochran, the largest and most-recognized automotive retailer in Southwestern Pennsylvania, is thrilled to announce our expansion into the Youngstown/Boardman, Ohio market. With the acquisition and opening of #1 Cochran Buick/GMC and #1 Cochran Chevrolet, we have an immediate need for a Senior Human Resources Associate.

The successful candidate will help administer our human resources policies and programs, while balancing team member advocacy and business operating needs. The Senior HR Associate will provide comprehensive HR support, directly in areas such as recruitment and retention, onboarding of new team members, pro-active team member issue identification and resolution, assistance with safety and benefit programs, along with additional duties as directed by senior management and the executive team.

Primary Duties

· Provide guidance to management and team members on human resource issues and applicable employment law

· Anticipate and plan for long-term human resource needs in partnership with store management

· Ensure company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout the area of responsibility

· Effectively communicate company policies and procedures to team members

· Ensure timely and accurate team member entries and information into our payroll and HRIS systems

· Recruit talent to the organization through both internal and external sources including digital job boards, career fairs, trade schools, etc.

· Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements.

· Meet with and assist new team members with onboarding paperwork, orientation, and additional activities to ensure their successful start with the company

· Assist in the process management of unemployment filings and hearings

· Serve as the campus contact for team member safety issues, and help support the Safety Manager with administrative and required safety presentations

· All other duties as requested

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with equivalent experience

· 5+ years of HR Generalist experience

· Paylocity HRIS experience a plus

· SHRM or PHR certification a plus

· Ability to communicate in a clear and straightforward manner both verbally and in writing

· Great internal and external people relations skills

· Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations

· Knowledge of local and state federal wage and hour laws

· Knowledge of recruitment trends and ATS software

· Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications

· Ability to prioritize and organize workload in an effective manner

· Must maintain confidentiality of company and team member information

· Possess strong analytical, project management and consulting skills

· Successfully work in an independent manner
