Senior Enterprise Business Data Analyst

The Senior Enterprise Business Data Analyst role is a critical role within Enterprise Data Sciences & Analytics to provide expert-level insight and analysis that shape current state processes into transformed future state processes fully leveraging Catalent’s robust data platform and data assets. The Senior Enterprise Business Data Analyst will identify opportunities to grow, optimize, and improve the organization's data literacy and digital innovation.


Location: Somerset, NJ – Philadelphia, PA – Morrisville, NC


The Role:

  • Perform data discovery/exploration to identify key systems in scope for data integration, feasibility of usage, and recommend optimal methods to remediate any data gaps identified

  • Drive clarity of data requirements from current state processes towards transformation into more automated or optimized future state processes

  • Work with source system owners to identify data sources, location, availability, volatility, structure, and accessibility as per business requirements

  • Conduct Source to Target data mapping to ensure the correct data objects are utilized for integrations

  • Assist in maintaining Catalent’s Data Catalog to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness

  • Drive the Self-Service BI culture to improve time to value in analytics for answers to critical day-to-day business questions, including availability of datasets, identifying training requirements, creating a curriculum, and assisting in launching a BI Community of Practice

  • Consult with key business stakeholders to capture and document data requirements and specifications for new business solutions and enhancements

  • Create current state and future state process diagrams

  • Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze and evaluate information from multiple sources

  • 10% travel expectations (domestic & international)

  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in capturing and managing data requirements to support enterprise data integration projects in a global organization

  • Proficiency with Power BI required

  • General understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts and practices

  • General knowledge of Data Governance and Master Data Management practices

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Databricks is highly desirable

  • Experience with Cloud-to-Cloud and On-Prem-to-Cloud Data Integration projects

  • Experience with Agile Development practices

  • Experience with data integration projects involving ERP systems, particularly with JD Edwards and SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable

  • Working knowledge of Cloud-based Modern Data Platforms as Data Lakes, Lake Houses, and/or Data Estates is highly desirable
