Scheduler

Description:

Work with physicians and patients to coordinate treatment times for Radiologic procedures

Schedule and confirm appointments using computerized scheduling system

Use the assigned scheduling system to gather patient information, including clinical diagnosis and coding requirements

Print all scheduled services for the next day and ensure all have a physician order

Review scheduled services to ensure precertification guidelines are satisfied

Review paperwork to ensure there is no missing information

Read patient's medical chart to code services performed

Evaluate scheduled services to determine if any procedure(s) need to be moved or rescheduled

Use the financial system to document information for billing purposes as needed

Experience/Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Must have 2 years of experience in an office or hospital setting where scheduling and secretarial duties are utilized

Medical terminology, coding and secretarial courses preferred

Must demonstrate expertise in telephone skills, effective written and oral communication and records management
